Chapter 214

All Might, Vlad King and Eraser Head keep their posts over the fifth round. Vlad cannot believe it is still running after One For All went wild, but Shota Aizawa answers that he will watch Izuku Midoriya personally, and that Hitoshi Shinso's brainwashing already kept the outburst from injuring anyone. Pressed by All Might, he says every student down there still wants this fight. Vlad reads the strictness as concern.

Hitoshi opens by yanking Izuku off a rooftop with his Capturing Weapon and slamming him into Ground Gamma. Ochaco Uraraka watches him lose the power struggle and then go Quirkless by choice, since using it now risks hurting someone. She floats a retreat to regroup; he refuses, because backing off hands Class 1-B the win. Quirk or not, he wants this bout with his old rival.

Elsewhere Mina Ashido debuts Acid Shot, hosing the 1-B holdouts at range while Yui Kodai and Nirengeki Shoda struggle to hold. Nirengeki hurls a handle charged with Twin Impact that homes in on her, and Minoru Mineta intercepts with Grape Buckler. His plucked Pop Off balls, he brags, double as trampolines, a plan built around never being able to tank Nirengeki's Quirk head-on. He then bounces face-first into Mina's chest, and the disgusted girl hurls him at 1-B, which pairs Acid Layback with the Grape-Pinky Combo Mineta Bounce. The class flounders against his ricochets while classmates cheer. Kosei Tsuburaba and Manga Fukidashi note that numbers will not save Team 5-B from 1-A's heavy hitters, and Kyoka Jiro wonders why nobody stopped this.

Katsuki Bakugo spots Neito Monoma circling back. A slab of metal knocks Ochaco aside, and Neito's thoughts stretch out: Copy will never make him strong alone or turn him into the protagonist, yet he regrets none of it. He ignites the copied One For All, meaning to face Izuku without standing in anyone's shadow, and charges Ochaco despite warnings about the instability. She slips behind him, applies her Gunhead technique, hooks his neck and pins him with her own weight. One For All dies on contact, convincing her the copy was a bluff, and she sends Izuku after Hitoshi.

Hitoshi throws the scarf out to retrieve his teammate, Izuku seizes it and hauls himself in as Zero Gravity lightens him, and the two collide. Hitoshi charges back with the Sports Festival on his mind while Vlad marks the grudge match from afar. Shota remembers the training: the Capturing Weapon had taken him six years, the sort of grind people like Hitoshi have to accept. Recalling Round One, Hitoshi drops a bundle of pipes on him. Trapped, Izuku remembers the predecessor's warmth, and Blackwhip answers.

Round Five continues as a full brawl, with Shota watching rather than calling it.

Flashbacks cover Hitoshi's training under Shota and the years the Capturing Weapon cost him.

Neito copies One For All and cannot make it work.

Izuku deliberately draws on Blackwhip during his clash with Hitoshi.
