Chapter 293

With the Nomu knocked clear, Izuku wants to know how Lemillion got here at all. Word about Jaku City came from the Villa team, he explains, and the villain hideout the Nighteye Agency had been sitting on was close enough that his Permeation travel mode covered the gap fast.

A flashback fills in the rest. The day before the raid, Bubble Girl told him about the operation and he wanted a place in it. Inside the U.A. dorms he went to Eri, who had been practicing on insects and lizards with small doses of her power, and asked her to give his Quirk back. He apologized for using her that way; she said the apology was unnecessary, because this was exactly what all that training was for. Her hands found his cheeks, glowed, and Permeation came home.

He thanks her in the present, then discovers that the restored power is not enough to clear every Nomu in one swing, and shouts for help as they bear down on Best Jeanist. Ingenium, Nejire Chan, and Katsuki answer. Katsuki, privately, is doing arithmetic on himself: the blasts he threw saving Izuku were faster, tighter, and stronger than his usual, and the variable seems to be the sensation of total crisis.

With the hero covered, Ingenium tells Katsuki that was reckless enough to kill him, and Lemillion checks on Nejire Chan after Dabi's flames. She is fine now that he is here, she says. Best Jeanist, catching the falling Katsuki, addresses him as Bakugo and asks whether he has seen the world yet. That name, Katsuki replies, was a placeholder. As of today he goes by Great Explosion Murder God.

The reviews are brutal. Best Jeanist finds it childish, Ingenium calls it too long, Nejire Chan is unsettled, Mr. Compress calls it tacky and Spinner calls it tackier. Only Lemillion laughs, and Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight insists nothing about it is funny. Lemillion falls back on Sir Nighteye's line about a future needing smiles and humor to be bright at all.

Gigantomachia keeps straining, the heroes keep swinging at Nomu, and Dabi has Shoto in the air. He points out that Shoto's friends are having fun down there while he gets hurt up here, and pushes his heat higher. Shoto notices the damage that costs him; Dabi says he is delighted that love went into raising his brother. Looking down at his frozen father, he savors the idea of the puppet masterpiece burning at the hands of the failed experiment, and asks Shoto what face the man will make when he dies. Then he winds up the last blow.

Blackwhip splits them apart. Dabi cannot place it until he sees that Izuku fired the Quirk from his mouth, a trick he names Froppy Style. Flames answer, wrecking the tendril, and Dabi tells him to stay out of family business. Izuku refuses on the grounds that Shoto is his friend and Endeavor is the mentor who pushed him further. He grants that the past does not die, but he has watched how badly Endeavor wants to be better and he intends to keep watching, and he tells Dabi outright that he is not his father, which seems to shake Endeavor loose.

Obviously not, Dabi says, and he ought to be pitied, being the product of a supposed agent of justice doing filthy things. Justice is losing, evil is flourishing, and he is only naming who is at fault. Soon enough, he promises, the lies and the lip service will be extinct. A strange pressure builds in Izuku's head again, and he registers that Gigantomachia is about to snap the fibers. Endeavor beats him to it, spending the last of himself to fly into the giant's face and rock him backward, and knocks himself unconscious doing it. Then the behemoth starts fading, to the confusion of his lieutenants. Lemillion has the answer from the U.A. students: the sedative they forced into him back at the Villa did nothing at the time, and is only working now, while those same students rally the wounded heroes there.

Lemillion explains how his Quirk returned. Eri had been rehearsing Rewind by regrowing limbs on insects and lizards, and when Mirio asked for her help so he could join the raid, she agreed.

Katsuki reaches Best Jeanist's side, and together with Ingenium, Lemillion, and a recovered Nejire Chan they take on the Near High-Ends. He announces his hero name, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, to near-universal distaste, with Lemillion the sole appreciator. His Explosion has grown stronger, firing faster and more condensed blasts shaped like four-pointed stars.

Izuku breaks up Dabi's attempt on Shoto's life by firing Blackwhip out of his mouth, a technique he calls Froppy Style after the way Tsuyu Asui weaponizes her tongue.

Gigantomachia tears free, and Endeavor flies into his face and knocks him back, losing consciousness as he does. The sedative that the U.A. students forced into Gigantomachia begins to take hold, and he weakens.

Hero-Saturated Society is chapter 293, at nineteen pages. It appeared December 7, 2020 in issue 1 of 2021, belongs to volume 30 and the Paranormal Liberation War arc, and is adapted in Episode 125.

Lemillion, Eri, and Deku share the cover, which doubles as the color spread for the sixth popularity poll. VIZ's first release of the chapter spelled Katsuki's new name ending in Dynamite, corrected the next day to Dynamight. Horikoshi's comment thanks readers for poll votes and birthday wishes.
