Chapter 8 (Team-Up Missions)

In the Class 1-B dorms at Heights Alliance, Neito Monoma congratulates himself on finishing his work. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu asks what it is, and Neito reveals a presentation built to settle the rivalry once and for all by comparing the two classes point by point. Itsuka Kendo answers with a chop to the neck and a flat no.

He barges into Class 1-A's common room anyway, whiteboard in hand, to general dismay. Tenya Ida, recalling All Might's advice about meeting Neito halfway, wonders whether the constant provocation hides an agenda and reluctantly decides to hear him out. Scanning the pinned reports, Tenya notices what looks like an acrostic spelling out "Scared of Class B". Prompted to read a second passage, he finds the first letters spelling "HELP ME", and concludes that every taunt has been a distress signal.

Tenya drops to his knees in tears over how badly he misjudged things. Neito reads the collapse as surrender and crows to the room that even the class president concedes 1-B is superior. Tenya relays his discovery to the others, Neito assumes they are wallowing, and Class A quietly resolves to draw out the truth. Izuku Midoriya's friendly opening is rebuffed as suspicious kindness. Eijiro Kirishima invites Neito to hit him as hard as he can, reasoning that men talk with their fists and a solid punch will say what words cannot. Neito obliges, still certain something is afoot, and Hardening activates on reflex. His howl of pain reaches Izuku and Tenya as "Class B is... agony!"

Jacket off, Neito lays into Eijiro properly, who cheers on every blow. A bruise on Neito's nape, left by Itsuka's chops, strikes Izuku and Tenya as evidence of abuse, and the shape of his swings suggests kendo strikes, which they take as a name being passed to them. Finished, Neito turns to the rest of the class certain something is fishy and unable to name it. The three blank-faced boys assure him there is no scheme, which unnerves him further. He tries to leave and is sat down instead. Momo Yaoyorozu serves tea, Rikido Sato brings snacks, and Koji Koda hands him rabbits, hospitality that pushes him toward madness wondering what the endgame is.

He arrives at a strange enlightenment, with no ill will left for the class to detect. Then Itsuka appears to collect him and he reverts instantly, bolting to her side. Izuku asks her about the abuse in Class B, and both she and Neito deny it with force, leaving the boys to apologize profusely to Itsuka rather than to him. She pinches Neito's ear and marches him home, and Class 1-A breathes out in relief until they remember what Neito's normal actually looks like.

Neito assembles a full presentation arguing that Class 1-B outclasses Class 1-A, and Itsuka Kendo shuts it down before he can deliver it in his own dorm.

Tenya misreads acrostics hidden in Neito's reports as a plea for rescue, and Class 1-A commits to freeing him from imagined mistreatment.

Eijiro invites a beating and Momo, Rikido, and Koji smother Neito with kindness. Itsuka's arrival collapses the misunderstanding, and the boys apologize to her.

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions is written and illustrated by Yoco Akiyama. This is its eighth chapter, nineteen pages, collected in volume 2, with Neito Monoma and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu on the cover.
