Bastille

Bastille towers at roughly twice an ordinary person's height. He hides his face behind a gray metal mask studded with rows of eye-holes and crowned by two long, curving bull horns, while his lengthy orange hair spills down his chest and back. Like other high-ranking officers, he dons a double-breasted suit set off by a black tie over a blue shirt, with a military overcoat draped from his shoulders and chains dangling at the lapels; stitches cover the upper part of his hidden face. In his younger days his hair was shorter and his mask smaller. After Sabo cracked and crushed his original mask, he replaced it with one bearing sharper, ridged horns.

As a Marine, Bastille upholds a firm sense of justice and grows irritated with juniors who act rashly, scolding his colleague Maynard for reckless behavior, yet he still looks out for his subordinates and warned them to keep clear of Sabo. He also proved shrewd, exposing an enemy takeover of Dressrosa's eastern port by demanding a caller's name and registration to confirm the man was truly a Marine. A verbal quirk has him closing his sentences with '-dara.'

When Ace's execution was set, Bastille reported to Marineford and lined up with the other vice admirals to face the Whitebeard Pirates, standing down once Shanks called for a ceasefire. He resurfaced at Dressrosa under Fujitora, waiting outside the Corrida Colosseum to arrest departing criminals and deducing that the fighter 'Lucy' was actually Luffy. Through the chaos of Doflamingo's Birdcage he relayed orders and surrounded Franky at the Toy House. When Sabo confronted the Marines blocking the path to Doflamingo, Bastille charged the revolutionary himself, only to have his sword shattered and his mask seized and crushed. Healed and freshly masked days later, he grew suspicious when stolen Den Den Mushi answered his calls, realized the eastern port had fallen, and called every squad to mass there, only to be left frustrated as Fujitora lifted Dressrosa's rubble. He commands lower-ranking Marines and could be summoned to help lead a Buster Call fleet, wields both Armament and Observation Haki, and swings the huge zanbato Same-kiri Bocho one-handed despite its weight, until Sabo destroyed it.
