Genbo

Bald and heavyset, Genbo wears a striped headpiece resembling a chef's hat in dark yellow and white. He dresses in the grass skirt common to his people, slings a large buckled belt across his body from the left shoulder, and covers his arms up to the neck and shoulders in spotted, fur-lined gloves patterned like a giraffe's hide. Shandian wings sit on his back. By the time he reappears years later he has trimmed down, buttoning up the full guard's coat with that same belt over it while keeping his old hat.

Held in respect among his fellow Shandia, Genbo is a man of few words who approaches combat with real seriousness, and his bulk belies genuine fighting capability. Genbo carries a bazooka that launches iron balls, a weapon Yama noted as unusual for the skies, and like many Shandia he flies skillfully using a pair of Jet Skis.

Raised amid the long war of his people, Genbo grew up hearing the tale of Kalgara. During the Skypiea fighting he appeared at a Shandia gathering, then advanced with his group toward the God's Shrine. His band confronted the priest Gedatsu, and after Kamakiri was wounded by Ohm they fell back. Caught in Shura's Ordeal of String, the warriors were freed when Wyper struck the priest down with a Reject Dial. Pressing on alone, Genbo beat several Divine Soldiers before running into Yama, who swiftly defeated him with the Ten-Fold Axe and left him unconscious. He later celebrated the victory and rejoined his comrades in restoring the forest. Following the timeskip he served as one of the God's Guards under Wyper alongside Braham and Kamakiri, and during Vegapunk's broadcast the guards were visited by Conis and Aisa.
