Personality

Courage runs strong in this child. The moment strangers turned up inside her house, she bolted for the kitchen and armed herself rather than freeze. That same protectiveness extends to her brother, for whom she will square off against four grown men if she senses they mean him harm.

History

Nanagi's brother Hakugan was once snatched away by the Kalik Pirates, an ordeal that left her anxious and shut inside the house. To coax her back out, the village chief arranged for her to go shopping with others in a nearby settlement. She came home to the news that Hakugan had returned safely and dashed inside, only to find the Heart Pirates there too. Assuming they threatened her brother, she grabbed two knives and a pot and warned them off. Law sided with her wariness, joking that pirates might simply seize the house, which prompted her to question Hakugan. Once he calmed her and explained matters, she reasoned that real villains would already have stolen everything and fled. Law then proposed a three-day trial, with the crew leaving at once if they caused any trouble. Over those days she warmed to Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin, nicknaming them Bepocchi, Shacchan, and Pen-chan, and let them stay on, though she kept her distance from Law, who deliberately avoided growing close to her.
