Appearance

Lean and of ordinary build, Penguin dresses in the crew's standard beige boiler suit, its back and chest pocket stamped with the Heart Pirates' emblem, paired with brown boots. His trademark is a black cap that names him across the front, edged with a yellow brim and topped, before the timeskip, by a red pompom. Following the timeskip he swapped that pompom for a small figure resembling a young emperor penguin, a nod to his name. During the Wano campaign he switched to a pale blue yukata bearing the crew's mark and carried a sword at his hip.

Personality

Much like his friend Shachi, Penguin has an eye for women and unwavering devotion to his captain. He is a natural comedian who delights in cracking jokes, well liked by his crewmates even though he and Shachi forever end up squabbling. His younger self was a far rougher sort, a teenage bully quick to taunt others and start fights.

Abilities

Having grown up beside a North Blue harbor, Penguin is a strong swimmer, and his resolve runs deep, shown when he weathered the wave of conqueror's will Silvers Rayleigh unleashed at the Human Auction House. In the anime he fights capably with martial arts at Shachi's side. He defended Zou wielding a spear and brought the same weapon to the Onigashima raid, though he was also seen handling a katana beforehand. Years earlier, he and Shachi were two orphans living rough until they crossed paths with the mink Bepo and, soon after, Law, who knocked them both flat with his Devil Fruit. The pair later joined Law to help form the Heart Pirates.
