Oimo

A thickset giant, Oimo sports a flat snout reminiscent of a pig, long orange hair that flows loosely, and a scruff of stubble on his chin. His viking garb sets a short-sleeved shirt of light green, trimmed in brown-green, against suspenders fastened by oversized gold buttons and a large pink tunic edged in brown lace and pale fluff. Greenish-brown pants tuck into big black boots, a broad black belt clasped by a gold buckle circles his waist, and a Roman-style helmet, gold-rimmed with a red center and pink frills, sits on his head. He almost always carries a massive studded wooden club. In his youth, sixty-three years back, he was leaner and wore a flap-sided brown hat.

Loyalty defines Oimo, who throws himself into helping his comrades and allies and bristles at anyone who threatens or mocks them, though his temper can push him into rash mistakes, as when his swing meant for the Franky Family instead clobbered Kashii. His devotion ran deep enough that he agreed to a century of servitude under the World Government just to free his captains, and he wept bitterly when he believed he had failed them. He honors Elbaph's customs fiercely, accepting Dorry and Brogy's lethal duel as natural and nearly turning on Usopp when he thought the pirate was insulting giant pride. Confident in his strength, he sees no problem using overwhelming force on smaller foes, and like Kashii he despises being deceived, which is exactly why he rounded on the Government the moment the lie unraveled.

Long ago Oimo had rampaged across the world among the Giant Warrior Pirates, until captains Dorry and Brogy fell into a duel after a disagreement, prompting the crew to dissolve and return to Elbaph to await a winner. Many decades passed with no word. Around fifty years after the split, Oimo and Kashii set out to find their captains, only to be captured by the Marines and fed a false story that Dorry and Brogy were imprisoned. Desperate to free them, the pair agreed to guard the main gate of Enies Lobby for a hundred years. Somewhere along the way Oimo also started a family and gained a grandson, Olav.

The Enies Lobby Arc opened with the Franky Family smashing through the Main Gate; the two giants sprang up to confront them and quickly crushed the Kairiki Destroyers, but Galley-La reinforcements overwhelmed Kashii, and Oimo's furious counterswing knocked his own partner out. Paulie then roped him up, the King Bulls spun him dizzy to open the gate, and the runaway Sea Train Rocketman slammed into his back. Believing he had doomed his captains, Oimo broke down weeping, until Usopp revealed he had actually run into Dorry and Brogy back at Little Garden, exposing the Government's deception. Enraged, the giants rampaged through Enies Lobby alongside the invaders, smashing toward the Courthouse before the guards' sheer numbers tied them down. When Spandam summoned a Buster Call, Oimo and Kashii hauled their injured allies to safety, shielding them from the bombardment as Paulie's ropes kept the group clinging to the island, and they escaped aboard the Puffing Tom. Days later in Water 7, having learned their captains were still dueling, they chose to sail home to Elbaph.

As a giant warrior, Oimo wields immense strength and durability, withstanding Rocketman and even Buster Call cannon fire, and unleashes his Oimo Press by dropping belly-first onto crowds of enemies. Years later he reunited with Dorry and Brogy, and the crew set course for Egghead to retrieve the Straw Hats, battling through the Marines and even shielding Sanji and Bonney from the Elder Nusjuro. After escaping to Elbaph, the festivities collapsed as the Knights of God descended and seized children from the Walrus School, his grandson Olav among them. When the captives were marched toward a deadly drop, Oimo sacrificed his own arms trying to wrench Olav free of a controlling arrow, then embraced the children to fall with them rather than let them die alone, only for Luffy in Gear 5 to rescue them all at the last moment.
