Prometheus

Character

Prometheus the Sun is a fiery homie summoned from Big Mom's right hand. He differs from common homies in carrying a shard of her very soul, which sets him among her personal arsenal alongside Napoleon, Hera, and formerly Zeus, and he menaces both the Whole Cake Island and Wano sagas.

Appearance

Shaped from densely packed flames and fringed with protruding rays, Prometheus comes across as a stylized rendering of the sun. Set high and bunched together, a small pair of eyes and a small nose sit above a far wider mouth, while ruddy cheeks flank a grin that usually shows his teeth. Channeling his power transforms him into something nearer a blazing fireball, and when his temper flares the face shifts into a markedly nastier form. In sleep he gives off neither rays nor glow, hovering instead as a bare orb with a face. The overall design closely mirrors Pandora, an earlier sun homie that Carmel made, except that Prometheus has no eyelashes and bears a smaller face upon a bigger body.

Personality

Devotion to Big Mom is the core of who he is, and he hurries to her whenever called, yet the terror her overpowering soul inspires in every homie means defiance is forever beyond him. He worries over the residents of Totto Land and will beg her to stop once her tantrums begin harming them, though that very loyalty also makes him a pitiless enforcer who incinerated the traitor Kingbaum without a trace of remorse. Toward the fellow weapon Zeus he holds open contempt, branding him a useless burden, scolding him again and again, and prodding Big Mom into trading him for the lightning homie Hera, whom Prometheus had hoped to win over before she rebuffed him. Never having been hurt until his bout with Brook, he was honestly rattled by the sting of his very first wound.

Abilities

Formed from a sliver of Big Mom's soul, Prometheus stands above ordinary homies and wields a will sturdy enough to shrug off the spirit projection of Brook's Yomi Yomi no Mi, even if that fruit's user can still injure him. Being living flame with no solid frame, he brushes aside almost every physical strike, including ones carrying Armament Haki, while water harms him; thanks to his bulk, though, a vast amount is required to slow him, and the fire-severing edge of Foxfire Style can split him as well.

He takes to the air, conjures blazes and blasts fierce enough to scorch Vinsmoke Reiju straight through a flame-resistant Raid Suit, and pairs with Zeus to whip up sweeping thunderstorms. Ballooning to colossal size lets him plunge down and burn a broad zone to ash, though such heft makes him sluggish, and the special flames of a Tori Tori no Mi phoenix wielder can overwhelm his own. On top of that he detects where Napoleon is, carries Big Mom whenever Zeus is unavailable, melds into her hair to scorch anything it brushes, and has to devour fire in order to recharge. His named moves take in Heavenly Feuer, where Big Mom hurls him or boosts a punch into a fiery burst; Heavenly Bonbon, a scattering of fireballs; the solo charge Stollen Feuer; and the combination beams Maser Ho and Maser Saber assembled with Hera and Napoleon.
