Sea Beast Weapons

Character

The Sea Beast Weapons are gigantic sea creatures that Vegapunk fitted with machinery to patrol the seas surrounding Egghead. Sinking any vessel that approaches without clearance, they became a major obstacle during the island's battles in the Final Saga.

First Appearance (Manga): Chapter 1062
Crew & Affiliations: Vegapunk

Appearance

These living weapons began as ordinary Sea Beasts before Vegapunk rebuilt them as cyborgs with mechanical enhancements. The group gathers several distinct creatures together: among them stand a lion of the sea, a giraffe-like beast, and a reindeer variant, the last of which wears a top hat with its antlers poking out the sides in a clear nod to Chopper.

Personality

Set loose around Egghead, the beasts behave as relentless guard creatures, attacking on sight and dragging down any unauthorized ship that tries to reach the island. Lilith can call up a pack of them to throw at intruders, and Sentomaru and Kizaru were both able to direct their assaults during the Marine assault on the island.

Abilities

Their strength is considerable, enough that they routinely sink craft approaching without clearance. When CP0 drew near, the creatures took on the agents; two of the beasts were destroyed, yet Rob Lucci doubted the whole pack could be fended off, so he gave up the ship, which the weapons promptly swallowed. Because flesh still makes up part of their bodies, however, anything that pierces it can wound them, and the lasers of the Mark III Pacifista wiped out the entire group, helped by the fact that the beasts could not turn to counter strikes from behind. They also have no defense against Jewelry Bonney's fruit, which reverted one of them to such a young age that it stopped being a threat. During the Egghead fighting the weapons tore into the arriving Marine battleships until Kizaru shot one down and the Pacifista finished the rest, after which Vice Admiral Bluegrass commandeered the sea-giraffe with her own power and rode it alongside Doll against the Giant Warrior Pirates.
