Appearance

Long blue hair spills loose around Whitey Bay's full lips and the confident look that seldom leaves her. Her dress is short and striped, laced shut with flower-shaped buttons, fitted with loose sleeves and paired with a scarf, while a polka-dotted bandanna covers her head. Atop that sits a pirate hat colored light blue and purple, marked with her Jolly Roger, a skull set against a snowflake, while a cape hangs down from her back.

Thirty years earlier in her youth, she dressed in a long-sleeved striped shirt that bared her midriff together with a short striped skirt.

Personality

So few appearances leave little of her character to pin down, beyond a laid-back air and obvious self-assurance. Her loyalty to Whitebeard plainly runs deep, since she heeded his call to arms in the bid to save Ace, and she speaks proudly of her ship's knack for reaching wherever it is needed. Back during her time among the Whitebeard Pirates, she balked at sending Marco out on a job, regarding him as too much of a beginner.

History

Three decades ago she still ranked as a full member among Whitebeard's pirates the first time they arrived at Wano Country. Shipwrecked, the crew headed ashore for supplies, and when Marco offered to join the errand she objected that he amounted to a mere apprentice. Not long after, they encountered Kouzuki Oden, who, following a brief clash, asked Whitebeard to take him aboard. Oden eventually clung to a chain tied to the Moby Dick for three days to earn his place, and once he joined, the crew adventured with him, Toki, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi. Four years on, Whitebeard's crew met the Roger Pirates in a brawl that ran for three full days and nights before the fighting turned into an exchange of gifts, after which they parted from Oden's family. In time Whitey Bay struck out to build her own infamous crew while staying subordinate to Whitebeard.

Learning that Portgas D. Ace faced execution, she and her crew rallied with other pirates and Whitebeard's forces to rescue him. At Marineford, Aokiji froze the bay and trapped the allied ships, yet her icebreaker simply smashed through the ice and carved an extra opening in the Marine lines for Whitebeard's group to advance through. As the battle turned, Whitebeard had her and the others abandon a head-on push and strike the base from the flanks instead. When Shanks and Sengoku brought the war to a close, she withdrew alongside her fellow members of Whitebeard's crew. In non-canon material she later attends Whitebeard and Ace's funeral in the anime, and a news report on Kizaru's desk records how Edward Weevil bested her.
