A Decisive Battle! Giolla vs. the Straw Hats

On Green Bit, Doflamingo recounts how twenty kings once founded the World Government. Every house save the Nefertari clan relocated to Mary Geoise, nineteen in all, and their heirs are today's World Nobles. Because each vacated nation required new royalty, fresh ruling lines emerged. Doflamingo points out that Dressrosa's successor rulers became the Riku Family, while the house that withdrew to Mary Geoise had been his own Donquixote Family, a disclosure that staggers Law as he grasps the man's true ancestry.

Outside the colosseum, Zoro and Kin'emon wrap up their planning with Sanji, who sets off to save Nami. Before he departs alongside Violet to reach the ship, Sanji entrusts Kin'emon with directions leading to the toy house. As the two of them hunt for a quiet entrance into the Corrida Colosseum, Bartolomeo notices them and fawns over his idol Zoro, recalling the swordsman's feats at Whisky Peak and Enies Lobby and regarding him as the crew's first mate. He calls out to Zoro, who is left utterly clueless about the stranger's identity.

On the warped Thousand Sunny, Brook pretends to assist Giolla in crafting abstract art while she keeps Nami, Chopper, and Momonosuke pinned. He dupes her into changing his blade back to its proper form, then cuts her down. With Giolla beaten, her enchantment collapses and both the crew and the ship snap back to normal. She retaliates by morphing herself into a creation she calls Heaven's Door Art, yet Nami's Gaon Cannon hurls her onto the deck, where a swing of Momonosuke's bat knocks her out cold and ends the struggle.

In the source, Brook's sword stroke closed out the bout with Giolla, but the anime extends it by having her become a living art form before Nami's Gaon Cannon fells her and the crew beats her into submission. Heaven's Door Art appears here as a brand-new technique Giolla labels her strongest. As Nami spins the Sorcery Clima-Tact, a single frame leaves her feet missing, and her left shoe then vanishes for an instant. While Heaven's Door Art is in effect, Violet's clairvoyance cannot find the Thousand Sunny until lightning strikes it, leaving her unaware Nami has already finished Giolla off. The episode adapts Chapters 722 and 723.
