A Big Surprise! A True Identity of the Toy Soldier!

Defeated Block C entrants keep raining into the buried cell, and those already there puzzle over whether any exit exists. The armored Ricky marvels that such a chamber sits hidden under the country. Tank Lepanto, peering at him, hesitantly wonders aloud if this is the monarch Dressrosa lost. Seeing no further point in concealment, Ricky pulls off his headgear and gives the name Riku Doldo III. Tank, once a soldier of that king's army who entered the bracket only to shadow Rebecca, weeps with relief, while Elizabello II locks the old ruler in a bone-crushing embrace, grateful for aid Doldo once lent his own land.

Sai, Boo, and Chinjao receive him far more coldly. They confront Doldo with the fact that his fall let Doflamingo climb to power as a black-market arms supplier feeding the foes of the Kano Kingdom, the very reason the Happo Navy now combs the island. Daguma piles on, yet Tank defends his old commander until Doldo ends the quarrel himself. One after another the gladiators confess they too once served beneath him, and a pile of broken toys stirs to kneel in his honor, stunning everyone watching.

A thread of goo slides down, seizes Sai, and pulls him into a tunnel before anyone can stop it. Hidden from view, Trebol reshapes him into a toy monkey stripped of bodily control and sends him marching out among the crowd. Up in the flower fields, Gancho recounts the Tontatta past. Roughly nine hundred years earlier the dwarves arrived hunting resources, only to be quietly enslaved by the Donquixote rulers and made to craft jewels far from public sight. After the Riku line took the crown, the king begged their pardon and freed them, ushering in years of peace until Doflamingo, the Donquixote heir, retook the throne through treachery.

Pressed by Robin about why the citizens despise Rebecca, the Thunder Soldier explains that Doldo, believing he served his country, was deceived into a terrible deed and made into a hated, unfit ruler in the public eye. When Usopp asks who he really is, the soldier answers that Rebecca is his own daughter.

Drawn from Chapter 726 and set in the Dressrosa Arc, the adaptation folds in extra material. a daydream has Bartolomeo picturing warm praise from Luffy after the captain dashes past, and a shadowed Koala turns up early as the figure Hack contacts over the Den Den Mushi. Boo and Chinjao are shown grabbing at Sai in a vain effort to keep Trebol from hauling him away. Chinjao's lips do not move while addressing his kin just after Boo drops in, and the trailer for the next installment is trimmed shorter than usual.
