The Operation Failed! Hero Usoland Dies!?

A decade earlier, as the Donquixote Pirates tore through Dressrosa, Kyros sprinted to the palace and walked into an ambush, his left leg chained fast to the floor. Doflamingo stepped forward holding up a beaten King Riku. In fury, Kyros hacked off his own leg to lunge at the invader, and in that very instant Sugar remade him into a toy. The newborn Thunder Soldier still escaped with Riku, who could no longer recognize his face. Some days afterward, Diamante gunned down Scarlett as she set out for food, leaving the toy soldier alone to feed and protect the young Rebecca from then on.

Viola jolts Kyros from the memory upon noticing more soldiers massing around Doflamingo, and with their surprise advantage slipping fast, the group readies a strike. In the colosseum, Burgess' assault chips away at the arena's foundations as Diamante coldly confesses to Rebecca, face to face, that he killed her mother, leaving her shattered. Beaten by the Donquixote officers, Franky inwardly pleads for Usopp to turn the tide, and in the hidden harbor every toy silently roots for the knocked-out sniper. In one last cruelty, Sugar wedges a Tatababasco ball between Usopp's lips and makes him swallow it, which jolts him awake screaming with a face so hideous that she faints in terror.

Added scenes include Kyros embracing Scarlett a final time before riding through the burning city, a brief exchange with Viola that precedes Monet escorting him toward Doflamingo, and the moment the chain caught his leg during the ambush. Usopp's struggle against Trebol is staged in full this time. Differing from the manga, the foaming at the mouth Sugar shows as she passes out is left out of the adaptation, and the teaser previewing what follows runs short. Usopp first uses his Ganmen Bikkuri Bako technique, and the entry sits within the Dressrosa Arc.
