The History of the Left Eye - Pedro vs. Baron Tamago

With Brulee's limp body draped over Diesel, Chopper and Carrot scour the mirror realm for a passage leading to Sanji, though nothing they try rouses Brulee to help. Luffy and Nami stay sealed within Mont-d'Or's tome under Opera's taunts, and because his hands are nailed to the wall, Luffy decides his only way out is to wrench his own arms loose, straining against the binding without success. Inside the treasury, Big Mom turns up in person to meet the trespasser, and Brook informs her he means to copy her Road Poneglyph as the two square off.

In the courtyard, Tamago gains the advantage over Pedro by wearing tights that blunt his Electro, and the old rivals look back on the day, half a decade past, that left each of them missing a left eye.

The memory traces Pedro leading the Nox Pirates onto Whole Cake Island beside his friend Zepo in search of Poneglyphs. He beat Tamago and took his left eye, but Big Mom then arrived to punish the raiders. Drawing on her Soru Soru no Mi, she pulled a century from Zepo, yet with only thirty years left to him, seventy went unaccounted for, so Pedro cut out his own left eye, prompting her to instead remove fifty years from his span. Back in the present, Tamago slams Pedro into a wall, only for Pedro to declare his debt to the Straw Hats for rescuing Zou from the Beasts Pirates, vowing to fight for them with what life remains. He lunges, snaps Tamago's blade, and cleaves him in two, an egg yolk spilling out thanks to the Tama Tama no Mi.

The anime inserts Luffy spinning within the prison book and striking his head, a wounded Reiju meeting Pudding in the hallway, Brook readying himself to face Big Mom, the full staging of Pedro and Tamago's earlier fight, and a flashback showing Pedro Zou's Road Poneglyph as Nekomamushi speaks of a coming dawn. Both Pedro's courtyard duel and his infiltration flashback with Zepo are extended. Zepo makes his first appearance, the Tama Tama no Mi debuts, and Tamago's Sunny-Side Legs and Legs Benedict are introduced.
