The 818th One Piece episode pits Brook's tireless soul power against Big Mom and her living homies, while Pudding tampers with Reiju's memories and Jinbe storms in to rescue a trapped Luffy and Nami.
With Sanji slumped outside her door and sunk in despair, Pudding keeps needling him in front of the ailing Reiju. Because the Vinsmoke daughter must attend tomorrow's ceremony, Pudding decides to arrange treatment for her, but first she draws a reel of film from Reiju's skull using her Devil Fruit, splicing out every recollection of their confrontation and stitching in a borrowed memory of a stray Chess Soldier bullet to mask the leg wound. Reiju blacks out and is carried to the medical ward, and Sanji slips away.
Deep in the Room of Treasure, Brook holds his ground against Big Mom, determined to copy the Poneglyphs she guards. He bolts up the walls and circles the chamber so quickly that she can barely track him, yet Prometheus and Zeus shut down every strike, and his music, which once crushed her Chess Soldiers, leaves the weather homies untroubled. Battered and seemingly finished, Brook still drags himself upright again and again, even after Napoleon's hidden blade cuts him down.
Inside the Mirro-World, Carrot and Chopper learn the mirrors will answer questions about where they lead, though the glass cannot recognize their friends by name, so Carrot offers to sketch them. In the Prisoner Library, Luffy tears at his own arms to break loose as Opera readies a crossbow to torture Nami for Lola's whereabouts, until Jinbe bursts in and floors Opera to set the pair free.
Pudding demonstrates the Memo Memo no Mi by editing Reiju's memories and rewriting the cause of her injury. Brook fails to land a blow against Big Mom's special homies and is repeatedly downed, yet refuses to stay beaten, explaining that he wants the Whole Cake Island mission to bear fruit even if Sanji or Luffy fall. Jinbe arrives at the Prisoner Library, strikes Opera with Gosenmaigawara Seiken, and prepares to liberate Luffy and Nami.
The episode belongs to the Whole Cake Island Arc. The anime lengthens both Pudding's memory surgery and Brook's clash with Big Mom, adding his attempt to use his ability on Zeus, Prometheus, and Napoleon. Napoleon's transformation into a sword is shown here, whereas in the manga that blade form first appeared later, during the team's effort to recover Brook from Big Mom.
In Episode 818, Big Mom is far stronger than Brook. He cannot land a meaningful blow because Prometheus and Zeus shut down every strike, and Brook is repeatedly knocked down despite refusing to stay beaten.
The clash between Brook and Big Mom takes place in Episode 818, "The Undaunted Soul! Brook vs. Big Mom!", set during the Whole Cake Island Arc.
No, Brook does not win in Episode 818. He is battered and left seemingly finished, and even after dragging himself upright again and again he is finally cut down by Napoleon's hidden blade.
In Episode 818, Pudding uses her Memo Memo no Mi to draw a reel of film from Reiju's skull, splicing out the memory of their confrontation and replacing it with a false recollection of a stray Chess Soldier bullet to hide the true cause of her leg wound.
