A State of Emergency - Big Mom Closes in!

Tonoyasu brings Zoro to Ebisu, the town where he was raised. Poverty grips it just as it does Okobore, yet its people keep laughing through their hardship, and they speak of a shadowy thief called Ushimitzu Kozo who steals from the rich and passes the money to the poorest tenements. One young girl even hands Zoro a cup of clean water, a rare luxury in such conditions. Within the capital, Orochi demands an extravagant spread and wastefully swats aside plate after plate. He also calls for geishas to perform, Robin blending in among them under cover, while Komurasaki and the Kyoshiro Family attend the same gathering.

Law arrives at Sanji's soba stall bearing a warning and details the threat: the Beasts Pirates command six elite Shinuchi known as the Tobiroppo. From that group, Sanji is being hunted by both X Drake and Page One, with Hawkins pitching in as well. The two carry Ancient Zoan fruits, one able to become an allosaurus and the other a spinosaurus. Over in Udon, Luffy is fed a false rumor by Caribou that a subordinate of Big Mom's cost Kid his arm, but Kid himself surfaces to debunk it, stating plainly that he lost the limb battling Shanks's crew. High over the shogun's mansion, kites carrying Nami and Shinobu settle on the roof, and the two steal inside just as Robin is slipping back out. Brook, splitting his soul from his body through his fruit, drifts past a strangely reinforced door and finds Kaidou's own Poneglyph beyond it.

On Onigashima, Kaidou is told Big Mom approaches from the southeast, her ship borne up the waterfall by carp, so he orders a barrage. Perospero shields the vessel with candy while other Big Mom Pirates wreck the cannons, and Big Mom vows Luffy will not slip away from her. Anime-only beats include Orochi slapping the sake bottles aside as he reviews the menu, his words to Robin before he notices Komurasaki, the Nami and Shinobu break-in, and Brook's ghostly search reaching the Poneglyph chamber. Daifuku and Smoothie now destroy enemy cannons rather than merely guard the ship, Page One is shown terrorizing civilians during his debut, and the anime crowds the Queen Mama Chanter with extra Charlotte siblings. Among those added are Nusstorte and Amande, then Kato and Dosmarche, followed by Angel, Snack, Cornstarch, and Custard, with Compote, Broye, and Tablet, whose presence the manga only confirms later, appearing alongside them. Unlike the manga, Kaidou stands shirtless for the approach. The episode debuts Koito and Page One and introduces the Spinosaurus model of the Ryu Ryu no Mi.
