Gatz

Across Dressrosa the citizens erupt in cheers at the sight of Doflamingo lying stunned atop the palace mountain, now recognizing Luffy thanks to Riku Doldo III's earlier address. Viola, reaching the streets with Hack and Usopp, peers ahead with her fruit and gasps, unsure whether the Warlord has actually been beaten. Riku stares silently toward the palace, and out on the Flower Field, Cavendish declares the fight finished. Law, however, tells him to glance upward, and the whole island sees with horror that the Birdcage is still aloft and steadily closing in. Bent on shattering it, Luffy launches himself at Doflamingo with his fist drawn back for one decisive hit.

Just before that punch can connect, Gear 4 reaches its limit and all the stored air bursts out of Luffy, hurling him into the mountain and leaving him sprawled on the street, gasping and unable to stir. Jesus Burgess drops down from the roof, broadcasting his intent to kill Luffy and seize the Gomu Gomu no Mi, as Koala frantically tries to raise Sabo by Den Den Mushi. The mountain then begins to fracture, and the stunned crowd realizes Doflamingo never lost consciousness; with the cage shrunk so tightly, there is nowhere left for anyone to flee. Gatz appears at Luffy's side, having figured out that Lucy and Luffy are one and the same, and offers his help.

Luffy tells Gatz that the recoil of Gear 4 robs him of Haki for a full ten minutes, so he needs that long to dodge Doflamingo before he can recover and land a final blow. Gatz rallies the same gladiators who once went after Luffy's bounty rather than aid him; Meadows apologizes for that choice and Rolling Logan promises they will trust him, asking only that he not look down on them if they fall. Hoisting Luffy onto his shoulder, Gatz sends half the fighters to shield him and the other half to throw themselves at the Warlord. Burgess blocks their escape and attacks, but Sabo lands a kick across his face, and Luffy grins at the arrival of his brother.
