Elsewhere Big Mom guides the Vinsmokes through her library, where Mont-d'Or's power keeps manticores, unicorns, centaurs, and even captured humanoids ageless inside book pages. When Judge remarks that he has seen no giants in Totto Land, Big Mom's face twists with rage before she composes herself and excuses herself.

Via Den Den Mushi she addresses the imprisoned Luffy and Nami. Luffy stays defiant, vowing to take Sanji back and still fight her, while Big Mom offers freedom after the wedding if they stop interfering. It is disclosed that her fury toward Lola stems from the daughter escaping a political marriage that would have advanced Big Mom's bid for the Pirate King title, and that she intends to have Lola killed. Brook and Pedro launch their plan to seize the poneglyphs.
