A Warrior's Mercy

Wearing the eight-headed serpent power he has taken on, the shogun gives Komurasaki a last opening to grovel and apologize, half-convinced she is only playing with him. Her refusal to plead for her life tips him into a raging fit, the many heads striking wildly and injuring even his own retainers before he clamps her helplessly in his jaws. A guest begs Daikoku to end the frenzy, yet Daikoku declines, holding that the shogun may do as he likes and that hunting down Robin matters more. Toko begs Robin to save the courtesan, but the closing ranks of ninja leave her stuck, until Fujin and Raijin come bolting past in terror, having taken Brook for a Gashadokuro. The other ninja scatter too, and a grateful Robin drives them off with Gigantesco Mano while they wonder aloud whether the pair are spirits.

Watching from the attic above, Nami and Shinobu steel themselves to reinforce Robin and Brook but run into the ninja Hanzo, who doubts the woman beside Nami is really the storied Shinobu. Offended, Shinobu buries a projectile in his groin, then rots the floor with her power and drops a heavy slab onto the shogun below, jolting Komurasaki loose from his mouth. As the guests stare, Kyoshiro plants himself in front of her and asks if she is prepared for what must come; she consents, and his blade cuts her down as an act of samurai mercy. He then spots the Kouzuki Family's concealed message slip and is startled. Still furious, Orochi rounds back on Toko, but Nami draws Zeus from her Clima-Tact and looses an electrified blast that rattles the whole castle.

The chapter names Orochi's Devil Fruit, revealing his serpent form to be granted by the fruit modeled on Yamata no Orochi. Shinobu is shown in a younger appearance and recognizes Hanzo among the shogun's ninja. Kyoshiro cuts Komurasaki down and takes note of Kin'emon's hidden message paper. Come morning, Tsuru feeds the memory-robbed Big Mom in Okobore Town, and Chopper lures her toward the Udon prison with the promise of shiruko.
