ZamasuFuture Zamasu is the alternate timeline counterpart of Zamasu from Future Trunks's devastated world. Originally the Supreme Kai apprentice of Universe 10, he allied with Goku Black (his past self from the main timeline who stole Goku's body) to execute "Project Zero Mortals," a plan to exterminate all mortal life across every universe.
Future Zamasu walks the same philosophical path as his main timeline counterpart, but in a world where the events unfolded differently. After his mentor Future Gowasu was likely killed, this version of Zamasu ascended to the position of Supreme Kai in Universe 10. His exposure to mortal conflict, particularly the destruction wrought by the Androids and Babidi in Future Trunks's timeline, only deepened his conviction that mortals are inherently flawed and must be eliminated.
When Goku Black arrived in his timeline, Future Zamasu recognized a kindred spirit. Black, who is actually the present-timeline Zamasu inhabiting Goku's stolen body, had already begun his campaign of genocide. Together they formed the "Zamases," a two-person alliance dedicated to eradicating all mortal life in what they call "Project Zero Mortals." Future Zamasu used the Super Dragon Balls of his timeline to wish for immortality, ensuring he could never be killed regardless of how powerful his enemies became.
Future Zamasu's immortality makes him an extremely frustrating opponent. While he lacks the raw offensive power of Goku Black, he cannot be destroyed by any conventional means. Every wound heals instantly, every attack that would be lethal simply regenerates. This forces Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks to deal with a two-front battle where one enemy hits incredibly hard and the other simply refuses to stay down.
When the tide turns against them, Future Zamasu and Goku Black use the Potara earrings to fuse into Fused Zamasu, a being that combines Black's stolen Saiyan power with Zamasu's immortality. However, the fusion is imperfect because only one component is immortal. This instability causes Fused Zamasu's body to mutate grotesquely, with one half remaining pristine and godly while the other decays into a monstrous form.
Even after Trunks bisects Fused Zamasu with his Spirit Sword, Zamasu's will refuses to die. His consciousness spreads across the sky like a cosmic infection, merging with the fabric of the timeline itself. Only the intervention of Future Zeno, who erases the entire future timeline from existence, can stop him. Future Zamasu's end is a statement about the dangers of zealotry: a god so convinced of his own righteousness that he would rather destroy everything than accept that mortals have value.
