Biography and Story Role

Hoi is the final surviving member of the Kashvar, an alien race of warlocks who considered themselves superior to all other species. The Kashvar were responsible for creating and unleashing the giant monster Hirudegarn upon the universe centuries ago, causing massive destruction before the beast was eventually sealed away.

In Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, Hoi arrives on Earth and approaches the Z Fighters with a fabricated story about needing to free a hero named Tapion from a magical music box. He manipulates the Dragon Team into using the Dragon Balls to open the box, presenting himself as a helpless old man seeking to rescue a legendary warrior.

In reality, Hoi's true goal is to release Hirudegarn, whose two halves had been sealed inside Tapion and his brother Minotia. Once Tapion is freed and the seal begins to weaken, Hirudegarn gradually reforms. Hoi had previously managed to free Minotia on another planet, allowing the monster's lower half to escape and kill the younger brother. When Hirudegarn fully manifests on Earth, Hoi attempts to control it but is ultimately killed by the very monster he sought to unleash.
