Role in the Story

Lemo has been part of the Frieza Force for decades, going all the way back to the era of King Cold. Unlike the aggressive soldiers who make up most of the army, Lemo is mild-mannered, pragmatic, and somewhat world-weary. He works in non-combat roles, including cooking for the troops, and has survived this long precisely because he avoids unnecessary conflict.

During the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Lemo is paired with the young recruit Cheelai on a mission to the remote planet Vampa, where they discover the exiled Saiyan Broly and his father Paragus. Lemo quickly develops a paternal fondness for the gentle but powerful Broly, recognizing that the young Saiyan has been manipulated and abused by his father for his entire life.

After the climactic battle between Broly, Goku, and Vegeta, Lemo and Cheelai use the Dragon Balls to wish Broly to safety before Gogeta can destroy him. The two defect from the Frieza Force entirely and settle on Vampa with Broly, providing the companionship and stability the Saiyan has never known. Lemo continues to serve as a caretaker and cook for the small group through the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
