Role in the Story

Zangya is a member of the Hera Clan, a group of powerful warriors led by the pirate Bojack. The Galaxy Soldiers were imprisoned by the four Kais for their crimes, sealed inside a star at the edge of King Kai's planet. When King Kai's planet is destroyed by Cell's self-destruction, the seal breaks and Bojack's crew is released.

The Galaxy Soldiers infiltrate a martial arts tournament organized by X.S. Cash, a billionaire who stages a competition modeled after the Cell Games. Zangya disguises herself as a contestant and uses her psychic abilities to restrain opponents with energy threads. She is a capable fighter who holds her own against several of the Z Fighters during the tournament.

Zangya's story ends tragically when Bojack, pressed against the wall by Gohan's overwhelming power, uses Zangya as a human shield. Bojack kills her without hesitation, demonstrating the ruthless nature of the pirate captain and the disposable way he views even his own loyal crew members.
