The Truth Laid Bare

With Kami sealed inside a bottle, Piccolo gloats over his victory while the remaining fighters look on in horror. Hero, the human whose body Kami had borrowed, is counted out when he cannot respond to the announcer's call, and Piccolo advances to the final. The real Hero reunites with his son in the crowd, bewildered by his sudden fame. A thunderstorm rolls in as the gravity of the situation settles over the arena.

Piccolo swallows the bottle containing Kami, ensuring that Goku cannot simply retrieve it. Goku gathers his friends and explains everything: "Junior" is the last offspring of the original King Piccolo, Hero was actually Kami inhabiting a human body, and Kami and Piccolo were once a single being who split into good and evil halves. The revelation stuns everyone. Piccolo appears, having overheard the conversation, and taunts them about how much stronger he has grown since their last encounter three years ago. As the sun breaks through the storm clouds, the championship match begins. They appear evenly matched at first, trading blows at incredible speed, until Piccolo extends his arm to grab Goku, who counters by throwing Piccolo skyward and hitting him with a Kiai blast. Piccolo retaliates with an explosion of energy attacks that buries Goku in a crater as the announcer starts counting.

Collision Course

Piccolo swallowing the bottle is a cold, calculated move that removes Goku's simplest option for freeing Kami. The real Hero's confused reunion with his son provides a brief moment of warmth before the tension escalates. Goku's explanation of Piccolo's origins to his friends connects the current threat to King Piccolo's reign of terror. Piccolo's appearance mid-conversation, boasting of his strength, adds menace to the proceedings. The opening exchange of the final match shows both fighters testing each other, with Piccolo's extending arm countered by Goku's speed and a devastating Kiai. Piccolo's barrage of energy blasts that leave Goku in a crater end the episode on a cliffhanger.

The Final Showdown Begins

This episode serves as the transition between the tournament's semifinal round and the climactic final. Goku's explanation of Piccolo's origins ties together threads from the King Piccolo Saga. The thunderstorm during the exposition and sunshine during the match opening create a deliberate visual contrast. This is the beginning of the longest continuous fight in the original Dragon Ball series, a battle that will reshape the arena and test Goku beyond anything he has faced before.
