Goku dives down Piccolo's throat to retrieve the bottle containing Kami, freeing the Guardian and forcing Piccolo back to normal size. After a spectacular aerial exchange, Piccolo regenerates a torn-off arm and begins charging his most destructive attack yet.
With Piccolo towering over the arena in his giant form, Goku spots an unconventional opportunity. He leaps directly into Piccolo's open mouth and descends into his throat, punching his way through the demon's insides to locate the swallowed bottle containing Kami. He retrieves it and beats Piccolo from within, forcing the giant to spit him out. Goku throws the bottle to Tien Shinhan, who breaks the seal and frees Kami. Realizing he has been outmaneuvered, Piccolo shrinks back to his normal size, and the real fight resumes.
Both fighters take to the sky in a punching match so fast that even Kami cannot track their movements. When Goku begins to fall, he fires a Kamehameha from his feet to propel himself back up and lands a hard strike on Piccolo. Piccolo retaliates with Antenna Beams that shock Goku to the ground. Kami jumps into the ring to shield Goku from a follow-up attack, but Goku refuses the help and insists on fighting alone, even allowing Piccolo to redo the blocked punch. After considerable debate, Kami withdraws, acknowledging that Goku has surpassed him in power. Piccolo fires a Chasing Bullet that Goku cleverly redirects back at its creator, wounding him severely. In a horrifying display of Namekian biology, Piccolo rips off his own damaged arm and regenerates a fresh one. He then begins charging what he promises will be his most devastating attack.
Goku going down Piccolo's throat is one of the most creative strategies in Dragon Ball history, exploiting the giant form's greatest vulnerability. Tien freeing Kami from the bottle restores Earth's safety net. The aerial exchange pushes both fighters beyond what anyone thought possible, with Kami admitting he cannot even follow their speed. Goku's feet-first Kamehameha as a propulsion tool shows his adaptability. The Chasing Bullet sequence builds tension as the homing attack refuses to quit until Goku leads it right back to Piccolo. The arm regeneration is the first clear demonstration of Namekian healing in the franchise. Kami's observation that Goku grows stronger with every fight is the earliest mention of what later becomes known as Saiyan Power.
Goku's refusal of Kami's help reinforces his determination to win on his own terms, even against a world-threatening opponent. Kami's recognition that Goku surpasses him in power marks a generational shift in Earth's defense. Piccolo bleeding red in this episode contradicts the purple blood later established for Namekians. The arm regeneration previews abilities that become central to Namekian characters throughout Dragon Ball Z. With Piccolo charging his ultimate attack, the next episode promises catastrophic destruction.
