Dangers on the Road

Without their plane, Goku, Shin, and Glorio have no choice but to proceed on foot through the Third Demon World. Walking proves slow due to the heavy atmosphere, so they resort to brief bursts of flight when crossing hazards like the Sea of Darkness. A winged beast erupts from the dark waters and nearly swallows Goku, but Glorio dispatches it with impressive speed and power. Later, a giant demon lying in ambush tries to crush Goku with a club, only for the Saiyan to sense his presence with ki detection and take him down with a single kick.

The group stops at a remote tea shop where Goku samples the local cuisine and discovers Medi Bugs, small creatures that provide various restorative effects when consumed. One variety can even fuse two people together. Goku asks Glorio to purchase a set, recognizing their potential usefulness on the journey ahead.

The Sky Seed and the Dragon Balls

Unable to provide a replacement plane, the shop owner offers a Sky Seed instead, a one-use vehicle that launches its passengers roughly 120 kilometers in one direction with no steering capability. The trio rides the wild contraption until it nearly deposits them into another Sea of Darkness, forcing them to bail out at the last second. Glorio then explains the Demon Realm Dragon Balls: unlike Earth's scattered orbs, each one sits in plain sight on a different Demon World, guarded by a Tamagami that must be defeated in combat before the ball can be claimed.

The Masked Rebel

Arriving at the next town, the group witnesses the Gendarmerie, Gomah's military police, extorting the local population and threatening to steal years of their life span for failing to pay increased tribute. A masked figure attempts to intervene with a Wasabi Bomb but is quickly overpowered. Goku leaps into the fray with his Power Pole and scatters the soldiers, rescuing the stranger. They flee to the outskirts where the individual reveals herself, and Goku's actions land him squarely on the Gendarmerie's wanted list.
