Dr. Arinsu proposes a one-on-one duel for ownership of all three Demon Realm Dragon Balls. Goku faces Majin Duu in an intense battle, but their fight is interrupted when Gomah emerges from the palace with the Evil Third Eye. Armed with devastating new power, Gomah overwhelms every fighter who challenges him until Goku reaches Super Saiyan 3.
Dr. Arinsu stands before Goku's group with Majin Kuu and Majin Duu at her side, the One-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball in their possession. Shin steps forward to greet his sister, whom he has not seen in a very long time. He explains why they have come to the Demon Realm and requests the Dragon Ball so they can wish themselves back to their adult forms.
Dr. Arinsu refuses. She has her own ambition: to become the Supreme Demon King and forge a Demon Realm so powerful that the outside world will tremble before it. She proposes a wager. One fighter from each side will battle, and the winner's team claims all three Dragon Balls.
Goku accepts immediately. Vegeta tries to claim the spot through rock-paper-scissors, but since he already fought Tamagami Number Two, Goku insists it is his turn. Bulma backs Goku up, and Vegeta reluctantly stands down. Majin Kuu eagerly volunteers on the other side, but Dr. Arinsu selects Majin Duu instead.
The duel begins with Majin Duu employing his bizarre Majin abilities against Goku and his Power Pole. The fight is fast and unpredictable, but Goku gradually falls behind. He closes the gap by transforming into a Super Saiyan, evening the playing field. The two exchange blows in an increasingly heated contest until their battle is abruptly interrupted.
Gomah strides out of the palace, now wielding the Evil Third Eye and radiating immense power. Eager to test his new abilities, he uses telekinesis to rip boulders from the surrounding landscape and fuse them into a massive floating arena in the sky above the palace.
Vegeta charges in first but is completely overwhelmed by Gomah's raw strength. Even after transforming into a Super Saiyan, his attacks prove useless, and Gomah tosses him aside like a ragdoll. Seeing how outclassed Vegeta is, Goku rallies the others to attack together. He is joined by Piccolo, Shin, and Glorio, but even four-on-one, they cannot find an opening. During the chaos, Goku drops the bag containing his remaining Medi Bugs.
Bulma approaches Dr. Arinsu and pleads for help. Despite their rivalry, Arinsu sends both Majin Kuu and Majin Duu into the battle. Neva also convinces Tamagami Number One to join. With eight warriors now fighting in unison, the combined assault presses Gomah harder than anything before, yet the power of the Evil Third Eye keeps him ahead. He absorbs a coordinated group attack without flinching and retaliates, battering several fighters into the ground.
Just as Gomah bears down on Goku for a finishing blow, Majin Duu and Tamagami Number One throw themselves into his path and buy precious seconds. In that fleeting window, Goku channels every ounce of energy he has left and begins the transformation into his strongest known state: Super Saiyan 3.
