When the Grand Tour Spaceship passes near Planet M-2, Giru's homeworld, the team decides to make a stop. It quickly becomes clear that Giru has been working for General Rilldo all along, luring the Saiyans and their Dragon Balls into a trap. The Sigma Force captures Goku and Trunks, leaving Pan alone and betrayed.
During the journey through space, Giru repeatedly beats Pan at a video game, an innocent rivalry that masks a far darker agenda. When the ship passes near the machine planet M-2, Giru convinces Trunks to land there, claiming he has not visited his homeworld in years. Pan backs up the request, and Trunks agrees.
On the planet's surface, General Rilldo tracks the approaching ship with satisfaction. He commends Giru for successfully infiltrating the group of Earthlings and leading them, along with two Black Star Dragon Balls, directly to his doorstep.
The ship lands in a forest clearing, and the team enters what appears to be an abandoned city. Thousands of small robots identical to Giru appear, all praising him for a job well done. Giru slips away and contacts General Rilldo directly, confirming the success of his long infiltration mission.
Goku, Trunks, and Pan grow suspicious but push deeper into the city looking for food. They are confronted by the Sigma Force, a squad of incredibly powerful machine warriors. The robots are unlike anything the team has faced in space so far.
One of the Sigma Force members disintegrates and reassembles around Goku and Trunks, trapping them in a metallic cocoon. Giru leaps up to join the Sigma Force on their platform, completing his betrayal in full view of Pan. She curses the robot she once trusted as the machines carry the captive Saiyans and Giru away toward General Rilldo.
Pan is left standing alone in the deserted city, heartbroken and furious. Her two strongest allies are prisoners, the robot companion she came to care for was a spy from the beginning, and she is stranded on an enemy planet with no backup. The mission to save Earth now rests on her shoulders.
