The Tail's Tale

Episode 33 finds the Supreme Kais and Space Lemurs still laboring to extract Goku's tail while Goku senses something extraordinary happening on Planet Plant. Through Old Kai's Crystal Ball, they learn that Uub has merged with Majin Buu to become Majuub. Goku is restrained so the tail-pulling can continue uninterrupted.

On Planet Plant, Baby clears the civilians from the area, and the fight with Majuub begins in earnest. Majuub wastes no time deploying his strongest abilities, firing a beam that transforms everyone nearby into chocolate. He assures Baby that each person will be restored once the battle concludes, then presses the attack with everything he has.

Goku devises a clever solution to the tail extraction problem. He has Old Kai tie himself to a rock, then powers up and flies straight upward, using the opposing force to yank the tail free. With his Saiyan tail fully restored, Kibito Kai immediately teleports Goku to Planet Plant.

Goku arrives at the worst possible moment. Majuub fires a Chocolate Kamehameha at Baby, who resists the beam and reverses its power. Baby transforms Majuub into chocolate and devours him whole. Goku lands on the battlefield and confronts Baby once more, but the Tuffle parasite is unfazed, noting that Goku now has a tail.

Goku powers up to Super Saiyan 3. With his tail intact, he can maintain the form, but even at this level, Baby proves too strong. Baby seizes Goku's tail and weaponizes it against him, beating Goku so badly that he loses the ability to sustain Super Saiyan 3 permanently.

Broken and lying on the ground, Goku gazes at the Earth hanging in the sky above Planet Plant. Something stirs deep within him. His body begins to change, swelling into the form of a Great Ape. Unlike any previous transformation, this ape radiates golden energy resembling a Super Saiyan's aura. Baby recognizes the Great Ape from Vegeta's memories and realizes that Goku is using the Earth's reflected light as a substitute for a full moon. The Golden Great Ape roars across the Tuffle landscape, and a new chapter in the battle begins.
