A delayed 10x Kamehameha knocks down Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta, evening the battlefield. Kibito Kai retrieves the Sacred Water from Kami's Lookout and uses it to free Dende, Mr. Popo, and Trunks from Baby's control. Bulma recharges Baby with the Blutz Wave Generator while Goku bluffs about his remaining strength.
Episode 37 begins with both fighters reeling. Goku's earlier 10x Kamehameha finally takes delayed effect, slamming Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta to the ground. Neither combatant has much left to give as they prepare for the next round.
On the Sacred World of the Kai, Old Kai reveals the next phase of his plan. Kibito Kai must travel to Kami's Lookout on Earth and retrieve the Sacred Water, which can purge Baby's parasitic eggs from any host. Kibito Kai teleports to the Lookout, where he encounters the infected Dende and Mr. Popo. After a brief search that includes grabbing the wrong bottle, he finds the genuine Sacred Water and immediately uses it on the Lookout's two guardians, freeing them from Baby's grip.
With the Sacred Water in hand, Kibito Kai heads to Planet Plant. His first target is Trunks, who receives a dose of the holy liquid and snaps out of Baby's influence with no memory of anything that happened during his possession. Kibito Kai quickly brings him up to speed on the situation: Baby controls Vegeta's body, nearly everyone on the planet is infected, and Goku is barely holding on.
Kibito Kai asks Trunks to keep Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta occupied while he moves on to liberate Gohan and Goten. The clock is ticking, and every freed Saiyan brings the group closer to being able to mount a real counteroffensive.
Both Goku and Baby Vegeta lie nearly motionless on the battlefield, their titanic clash having drained them to near zero. It seems the fight might end in mutual exhaustion until Bulma intervenes. She repairs and reactivates her Blutz Wave Generator, aiming its beam directly at Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta. The concentrated energy floods his body, restoring him to full fighting capacity.
Goku, still flat on his back, projects an air of confidence and pretends he has recovered his own strength. In reality, Baby's earlier Super Galick Gun left him critically weakened. The bluff buys time, but against a fully recharged Golden Great Ape, time may be the one thing Goku no longer has.
