Goku battles Super 17 as a Super Saiyan but discovers that the android absorbs every energy attack thrown at him, growing stronger with each blast. Forced to escalate, Goku ascends to Super Saiyan 4, determined to find a weakness in an enemy that feeds on his own power.
Pan has been defeated, and Mr. Satan blames himself for not protecting her. Goku charges Super 17, landing a solid punch that sends the android flying. But each time Goku follows up with energy blasts or a Kamehameha, Super 17 emerges unscathed and visibly stronger. Dr. Myuu watches gleefully as his creation absorbs every ounce of ki directed at it.
Goku does not realize what is happening until Super 17 counterattacks with devastating force, warping the landscape and shaking the Earth itself. Dr. Myuu calls Goku out to continue, and the Saiyan responds by ascending to Super Saiyan 4, declaring that this time his opponent will not be able to predict his movements.
At Chi-Chi's house, Bulma wonders if they should buy Goku a cellphone. Chi-Chi grabs her broomstick and marches toward the battlefield, joined by Videl in her Great Saiyawoman outfit and Bulma and Bulla in a hovercar. On the front lines, Goku's Super Saiyan 4 attacks still fail to damage Super 17. The android hides among trees to ambush Goku and drain more energy.
Goku finally figures it out: Super 17 absorbs all energy-based attacks, just as Android 19 once did. Every Kamehameha and ki blast only makes the enemy stronger. Goku acknowledges the problem but refuses to surrender, vowing to find another way.
Dr. Myuu grows impatient with the stalemate and orders Super 17 to finish Goku. Just as Goku prepares another Kamehameha, Super 17 strikes first, forcing the Saiyan to rethink his approach entirely. Goku allows Super 17 to attack him directly, hoping the android will spend the stored energy in the process.
When Goku tries Instant Transmission to gain an opening, Super 17 counters with a full-power blast to the face. Every strategy has failed, and Dr. Myuu celebrates his dream coming true. Goku is running out of ideas, but he is far from running out of determination. The Earth's fate hangs on whether he can outsmart an enemy built to counter everything in his arsenal.
