Goku turns himself into a living bomb to stop Super 17, but the android survives. Android 18 arrives to avenge Krillin, and her relentless assault reveals Super 17's fatal weakness: he cannot defend while absorbing energy. Goku exploits the opening with a Dragon Fist that ends the Super 17 Saga.
Desperate to stop Super 17, Goku grabs the android from behind and channels all his energy inward, transforming himself into a living bomb. The resulting explosion shakes the entire planet. When the smoke clears, Goku lies in his child form, completely drained. Dr. Myuu believes the fight is over until Super 17 rises from the water, having shielded himself at the last moment.
The android prepares to kill Goku and avenge the Red Ribbon Army, but Android 18 steps between them. She declares that she still has a bomb in her chest and will detonate it if Super 17 fires. The bluff buys time, and 18 swears to avenge Krillin's death, giving Goku the strength to stand again.
Dr. Myuu berates Super 17 for hesitating, and the android responds by turning on his creator instead, killing Dr. Myuu with a single blast. Android 18 then unleashes a barrage of energy waves at Super 17, who begins absorbing them. Goku shouts that the attacks are only feeding him, but 18 does not care. She would rather die than let Super 17 win.
In that moment, Goku realizes the critical flaw: Super 17 cannot move or defend himself while absorbing energy. Goku charges through the android's midsection with a Super Dragon Fist, fatally wounding him, then vaporizes what remains. Krillin's death is avenged at last.
Goku comforts Android 18, telling her that the original 17 won in the end because he turned on Dr. Myuu and showed them the way to victory. He assures her that Krillin would be proud. Chi-Chi, Videl, Bulla, and Bulma arrive ready to fight, only to learn the battle is already over.
The group decides to gather the Dragon Balls to revive Krillin, heal the Earth, and undo the damage from Super 17's rampage. They collect all seven, but each ball is visibly cracked. Choosing to try them anyway, Goku senses a dark presence. Instead of the familiar Shenron, a massive blue dragon made of black smoke erupts from the Dragon Balls. No one has ever seen anything like it before.
