The Seven-Star Dragon

EpisodeEp. 52

Naturon Shenron, the Seven-Star Dragon, appears as a tone-deaf mole obsessed with earthquakes. After Goku and Pan defeat his borrowed body, the cunning dragon reveals his true ability: possession. The Singing Mole

Giru detects a Dragon Ball underground, and moments later, the earth shakes as a purple, mole-like dragon bursts through the soil, singing off-key about his love of earthquakes. Naturon Shenron admits he is not much of a fighter and seems nearly blind on the surface. Goku's insults fail to provoke him, and Pan's ki blasts do nothing. Realizing the dragon is tunneling toward a nearby city, Goku and Pan race ahead to warn the civilians.

While Pan destroys falling rubble and rescues trapped people, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 4 and physically pushes the shifting earth back into place. When Naturon sees his earthquake plan foiled, he finally attacks and proves to be a decent fighter when motivated. He reveals his origin: the wish that brought back everyone killed by Majin Vegeta at the tournament.

The Oldest Trick

Naturon unleashes his Aftershock technique, but Pan quickly realizes the blasts can be avoided by staying airborne. Goku and Pan land on the dragon's head and redirect his own attack back at him, frying him with it. The charred Shadow Dragon falls and explodes, and the Seven-Star Ball lands in Pan's hands.

But the victory is a trap. The still-corrupted ball transforms into a sphere of blue light and sucks Pan inside. Naturon reveals that his true form is a tiny, powerless creature. The mole was merely a host body, and now he has possessed Pan through the Dragon Ball to gain exponentially greater power.

Pan Consumed

The Seven-Star Ball swells and reshapes into a new Naturon Shenron: larger, bluer, and far more dragon-like than before. With Pan's energy fueling him, the reborn Shadow Dragon attacks Goku with terrifying strength. He laughs as he explains his scheme. He had been playing weak the entire time, waiting for the heroes to destroy his borrowed body so he could use the Dragon Ball to claim a stronger host.

Naturon's ultimate goal is to wear out Pan's body and then possess a Super Saiyan 4. Goku stands between his granddaughter and total destruction, facing the agonizing reality that the path to saving the world runs directly through Pan.
