Omega Shenron launches a Negative Karma Ball to destroy Earth, and Goku holds it back with his bare hands, vowing to never use the Dragon Balls again. After surviving the explosion, Goku channels energy from every living being in the universe into a Super Ultra Spirit Bomb that obliterates Omega Shenron. The original Shenron appears unbidden.
With Goku and Vegeta drained of power and fusion no longer possible, Omega Shenron grows bored and unleashes his Negative Karma Ball, a sphere of destructive energy meant to annihilate the entire planet. Goku steps forward and catches it with his bare hands, straining against its force.
While struggling, Goku reaches a profound understanding. The Earth has suffered because he and his friends treated the Dragon Balls like a convenience instead of respecting their power. He makes a silent vow: if he survives this, he and his allies will live without the Dragon Balls from now on. The Negative Karma Ball detonates, carving a city-sized crater into the ground. Everyone assumes Goku was killed in the blast.
Omega Shenron creates a massive aura of negative energy and declares his intention to destroy not just Earth but the entire universe. Vegeta orders Trunks, Gohan, and Goten to evacuate their families while he holds the line alone. The three sons get their loved ones to safety, then turn around and rejoin Vegeta for a final stand.
Their combined Super Saiyan transformations are not enough. Omega batters them all into the ground. Just as the dragon prepares to kill Vegeta, he spots movement in the crater. Goku is alive, standing in a mysteriously transformed state, and above him floats a massive sphere of concentrated energy: the Super Ultra Spirit Bomb.
Goku knows that Earth's remaining energy alone will not be enough to destroy Omega Shenron. He contacts King Kai and asks him to relay a message to every living being in the universe: give their energy to save Earth. Across galaxies and dimensions, people Goku has helped throughout his life raise their hands. Planet Namek, the worlds visited during the Black Star Dragon Ball hunt, and countless others all contribute.
With the energy of the entire universe gathered into one attack, Goku thanks everyone for their help and throws the Spirit Bomb. It strikes Omega Shenron head-on and completely obliterates him. The Dragon Balls return to normal, and the Shadow Dragon threat is over. As the Z Fighters rush to Goku's side, the original Shenron appears before them without being summoned, a sight no one has ever witnessed before.
