Gohan and Krillin break free from the sea creatures and defeat Raiti and Zaacro, escaping the fake Namek for good. After 34 days in space, they finally land on the real Planet Namek, only to discover Vegeta has arrived minutes behind them.
Pinned by sea creature tentacles, Gohan and Krillin fight their way free using a coordinated energy blast technique. Spinning around each other while firing from their palms, they create a whirlpool that tears the creatures away. Meanwhile, Raiti and Zaacro attempt to steal Kami's ship but cannot open the door because the voice command was never translated from Namekian.
Bulma catches up and hides as the alien impostors struggle with the ship. When Gohan shouts "Piccolo!" from above, the platform returns to ground level, and both thieves are dispatched with single blows. The trio escapes the false planet through a gap in the spatial phenomenon and sets course for the real Namek.
Back on Earth, Goku tries to sneak out of the hospital again but is intercepted by his doctor. After 34 days of travel, Kami's ship finally approaches a blue-green world. The Dragon Radar confirms seven Dragon Ball signals. Their excitement is tempered when Gohan senses powerful and unfriendly Ki signatures in the distance. Moments after landing, a Saiyan-style space pod crashes nearby. Vegeta has arrived. Krillin and Gohan suppress their Ki and face an impossible choice: flee and abandon their friends forever, or stay and fight for the Dragon Balls against Vegeta and whatever other forces await. They choose to stay. Bulma contacts Master Roshi while Vegeta detects Frieza's position and learns that the tyrant brought his top lieutenants, Zarbon and Dodoria, along for the mission.
The landing on Namek transforms the series in an instant. What began as a Dragon Ball retrieval mission becomes a three-way conflict: Frieza's army controls four Dragon Balls already, Vegeta is pursuing his own immortality agenda, and Gohan and Krillin are hopelessly outmatched by both parties. Bulma's realization that their ship has been damaged further isolates them on a hostile planet with no escape route.
The introduction of Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria in the episode's final moments is handled with masterful restraint. Frieza appears only as a silhouette in his hover-pod, flanked by his elegant and brutish lieutenants, each casually carrying an enormous Dragon Ball. The visual immediately communicates the power imbalance.
The tonal shift between the filler adventures and the Namek landing is dramatic. The playful, adventure-serial atmosphere of the fake Namek and Mirror Spaceship episodes gives way to genuine menace. Gohan's observation that Namek's landscape resembles the wilderness where Piccolo trained him creates an emotional connection to the planet before the violence begins.
Krillin's decision to stay despite knowing he is outclassed reaffirms his courage as one of the series' most consistently brave characters.
