Guru reads Krillin's heart, deems him worthy, and hands over the final Dragon Ball. He then unlocks Krillin's dormant potential, dramatically boosting his power. Frieza executes a soldier for incompetence and summons the dreaded Ginyu Force.
Inside Guru's home, the ancient Namekian speaks slowly, his voice strained by illness and age. He acknowledges the evil that has come to his planet and laments that Frieza views the Dragon Balls as nothing more than tools for his greed. Krillin explains that he and his friends came from Earth to wish back companions who died fighting the Saiyans. Dende vouches for him, and Guru places his weathered hand on Krillin's head to read his memories and intentions directly.
Through Krillin's thoughts, Guru learns the story of Kami, the Namekian who traveled to Earth and created the Dragon Balls there. He confirms that Kami belonged to the "dragon family" of Namekians and reveals something startling: Kami and King Piccolo were originally one being who split apart to purge internal evil. Had they remained whole, no ordinary Saiyan could have defeated them. Satisfied that Krillin's heart is pure, Guru entrusts him with the final Dragon Ball and warns him that time is short. The ancient elder has only days left to live, and the Dragon Balls will vanish with him.
Guru then senses enormous untapped energy within Krillin and offers to awaken it. He places his hand on Krillin's head again, and a blazing aura erupts around the small warrior. The power boost is staggering. Krillin, ecstatic, asks if Guru can do the same for others and immediately plans to bring Gohan. As Krillin departs with the Dragon Ball, events elsewhere take a dark turn. A soldier named Orlen discovers Vegeta's ravaged village, kills the sole surviving Namekian for information, and reports back to Frieza. Frieza executes Orlen on the spot with his eye beams for destroying the only witness who might have known where Vegeta hid the Dragon Ball. He then orders Appule to summon the Ginyu Force and demands they bring fresh scouters.
Guru's revelation about Kami and King Piccolo's shared origin is one of the saga's most important pieces of lore. The idea that a single Namekian, unsplit, would have been too powerful for any normal Saiyan recontextualizes the entire original Dragon Ball series. It also plants the seed for Piccolo's eventual fusion with Nail and later with Kami himself, decisions that will reshape the balance of power in arcs to come.
Frieza's decision to summon the Ginyu Force is a pivotal escalation. The tyrant has maintained composure throughout the Namek conflict, but this call reveals genuine concern. His private reflection about the Saiyans growing stronger after every fight, and his fear that one might become a Super Saiyan, is a rare moment of vulnerability for the most powerful being in the known universe.
Orlen, the orange-skinned soldier who discovers Tsuno's ruined village, is an anime-original creation. In the manga, it is Appule who finds the village, and he is not killed for it. Orlen exists specifically to give Frieza someone to execute, demonstrating the tyrant's zero-tolerance policy for failure. It is a small addition that speaks volumes about how Frieza's empire operates: even bringing bad news can be a death sentence.
Zarbon's private concern about Frieza summoning the Ginyu Force adds another layer of tension. Even Frieza's most loyal elite knows that calling in the special forces means the situation has spiraled beyond local control. The stakes have escalated from a Dragon Ball hunt into something far more dangerous for everyone on the planet.
