Newly transformed into a Super Saiyan, Goku completely dominates Frieza in combat. Every attack the tyrant throws is shrugged off effortlessly. When Frieza realizes his worst nightmare has come true, he hurls a Death Ball at Namek's core in a desperate attempt to destroy the planet and the Saiyan legend along with it.
The transformation is complete, and the difference in power is staggering. Super Saiyan Goku engages Frieza with a level of speed and strength that the tyrant simply cannot match. Every punch Frieza throws is blocked or dodged. Every energy blast is swatted aside like an insect. The tables have turned so completely that Frieza can barely process what is happening.
Gohan escapes the battlefield with the gravely injured Piccolo, following Goku's orders. Meanwhile, Frieza cycles through increasingly desperate counterattacks, each one failing more spectacularly than the last. His Death Beams, once lethal threats, bounce harmlessly off Goku's aura.
Staring into Goku's cold green eyes, Frieza finally acknowledges what he is facing. The legend that haunted his family for generations, the prophecy of a Super Saiyan who would rise to challenge the mightiest force in the universe, stands before him in the flesh. Goku confirms it plainly, declaring his identity as the warrior Frieza dreaded most.
Cornered and outmatched for the first time in his life, Frieza abandons all pretense of a fair fight. He generates an enormous Death Ball, a sphere of concentrated energy powerful enough to obliterate an entire world, and launches it directly at Planet Namek's core. If he cannot defeat the Super Saiyan, he will destroy the ground beneath their feet.
The decision reveals Frieza's true nature in its rawest form. Faced with an opponent he cannot overpower, his instinct is annihilation rather than surrender. The Death Ball plunges into Namek's surface, triggering a chain reaction that will tear the planet apart from within.
A memorable detail from this episode is the moment Goku identifies himself to Frieza using his full Saiyan name, Son Goku, marking the first time the complete name is spoken aloud in an English dub. Voice actor Sean Schemmel specifically requested permission to deliver the line, viewing it as a powerful declaration of identity at a pivotal moment.
The episode draws a sharp line between the battle that came before the transformation and the one that follows. Goku is no longer fighting for survival; Frieza is.
