Awakened Form

Forty years before the Granolah the Survivor Saga, a young Gas fought against Bardock and tapped into this power for the first time. However, he could not maintain control and slipped into the berserk Inner Nature Unleashed state, attacking indiscriminately. This traumatic experience left Gas fearful of his own power for decades, and his brother Elec used mental restraints to keep the transformation suppressed.

Full Awakening

During the conflict on Planet Cereal, Gas was pushed beyond his limits fighting Granolah and the Saiyans. After losing control and going on a rampage that endangered even his own allies Oil and Macki, Gas finally achieved mastery over his inner nature when Elec reached through to him. Seeing Goku's face, which reminded him of his defeat at Bardock's hands, allowed Gas to channel the memory into control rather than fear. In this awakened state, Gas overwhelmed Granolah, handled Goku's Autonomous Ultra Instinct with little difficulty, and could cross vast interstellar distances at speeds surpassing spacecraft.

The Cost of Maximum Power

When Elec manipulated Gas into pushing even further, the younger Heeter sacrificed his remaining lifespan to access greater power. This caused his body to age rapidly, taking on a decrepit appearance. Despite looking frail, this aged form was actually stronger, allowing Gas to overpower Goku's empowered Ultra Instinct Sign. He could also bulk up his body for additional power at the cost of further deterioration. Ultimately, the accelerated aging left Gas so weakened that Frieza, arriving in his Black Frieza state, killed him with a single blow.
