The Lost Dragon Ball

Manga ChapterCh. 97

Fresh off wiping out the Red Ribbon Army, Goku discovers the Dragon Radar no longer shows the seventh ball. Reunited with the Kame House crew, he learns from Muten-Rōshi that a mysterious all-seeing fortuneteller may be his only chance of finding the lost sphere.

A Missing Signal

With six Dragon Balls secured, Goku checks the radar for the final sphere and finds nothing at all. Meanwhile, Yamcha has landed his plane some distance from the base. Muten-Rōshi insists they need a real plan before charging in, while Oolong fakes a stomachache to weasel out of the mission entirely. Their bickering is cut short when Kuririn spots something closing in from the sky. Puar collapses the plane back into a capsule so the group can hide, only to realize the incoming figure is Goku himself cruising on Kinto-Un.

Stronger Than Anyone Expected

Goku drops down to meet them, convinced the radar is simply broken. The others assume he has finally decided to abandon the attack, and their jaws hit the floor when he explains that he already invaded the base alone and walked away with six of the seven spheres. Turning to Muten-Rōshi, Goku asks if Grandpa Gohan ever climbed Korin Tower the way he did. The old master is stunned to realize the boy scaled the tower on his own and drank the Sacred Water, which explains the shocking jump in his strength. Rōshi quietly suspects the kid is only going to keep growing more powerful.

A New Destination

Back at Kame House, Bulma cracks open the Dragon Radar and finds every component in perfect working order. Goku reminds her the device showed all seven spheres just hours earlier, and she realizes the only explanation is that a living creature has swallowed the final ball, since flesh would shield its signal. Goku almost gives up until Rōshi suggests they pay a visit to Fortuneteller Baba, whose divination can locate anything. Bulma and Oolong refuse to tag along, so Yamcha, Puar, Kuririn, and Goku pile into the plane and set off to find her.
