Defusion and Desperation

Goku and Vegeta lie on the ground after their premature defusion. Gowasu theorizes Vegito's immense power burned through the time limit far faster than expected. Fused Zamasu opens small portals to redirect attacks, striking the Saiyans from behind repeatedly. Shin estimates about twenty minutes remain on Fused Zamasu's own fusion.

Shin laments that if he had stayed a Supreme Kai apprentice, he would still possess healing abilities. Future Trunks overhears and reveals he served as apprentice to his timeline's Shin and completed the official ritual. Shin tells him the ritual should have granted healing powers. Future Trunks realizes this explains how Future Mai survived her earlier injuries and how Gowasu clung to life after being stabbed: his power activated subconsciously both times.

Vegeta's Sacrifice and Perfected Blue

Shin warns that Future Trunks can heal only one person at his current level. Vegeta grabs his son's hand and tells him to choose Goku, admitting that during their time as Vegito he recognized Goku as the only fighter capable of matching Fused Zamasu alone. Vegeta launches himself back into battle to buy time. Fused Zamasu sends Goku ricocheting through portals like a pinball. Vegeta intercepts, hurls Goku toward Future Trunks, then faces the fused god alone. He blinds Fused Zamasu with an Explosive Wave and endures a savage beating while provoking him.

A New Level of Blue

Future Trunks heals Goku to full strength but collapses from the strain. Goku teleports in front of Vegeta, and Shin pulls the prince to safety. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, then pulls his aura inward and concentrates. He fights Fused Zamasu to a standstill. Vegeta explains that Goku has sealed the Blue form's power inside his body, eliminating its stamina weakness and sustaining full output continuously. Vegeta calls it the complete mastery of Super Saiyan Blue. However, the cost is severe: containing that much power could shatter his body. Goku lands a heavy punch and immediately feels searing pain shoot through his arm, realizing his body is already breaking down.
