The unnamed species of Ginyu Force member Recoome consists of large, muscular humanoids who lack eyebrows and tower over most other races. Integrated into the Frieza Force at some point in history, their most famous member became one of the most theatrically dangerous fighters Goku and his friends ever faced on Namek.
Members of Recoome's Race are immediately recognizable by their imposing physical stature. They are large, heavily muscled humanoids who stand significantly taller than the average Earthling, with broad frames that suggest raw physical power as a defining trait of the species. One consistent physical feature across all known members is the complete absence of eyebrows, giving their faces a distinctive, slightly unsettling appearance.
The species comes in a variety of skin colors, with members displaying pink, teal, purple, and blonde-haired variants appearing across different media. Recoome himself is noted as a mutant of the race, which may account for his exceptional power level compared to other members. Female members of the species also exist, with Vereen from Dragon Ball Fusions demonstrating that the race's muscular build is not exclusive to males.
At some point in galactic history, members of Recoome's Race were integrated into the Cold Force, the interstellar military empire run by King Cold. In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Recoome is shown to already be a member of the Ginyu Force by Age 732, around the time of King Cold's retirement and Frieza's rise to power. This timeline suggests that King Cold himself may have been responsible for bringing the species under his command, much as he orchestrated the subjugation of the Saiyans.
Recoome's performance on Planet Namek remains the race's defining moment in the series. After the Ginyu Force arrived to deal with Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin, Recoome single-handedly dismantled all three fighters with theatrical flair, posing and announcing his attacks like a professional wrestler. He broke Gohan's neck, shattered Vegeta's pride, and seemed completely unstoppable until Goku arrived fresh from his training in 100x gravity aboard the spaceship and defeated Recoome with a single elbow to the stomach.
Beyond Recoome himself, members of this race serve throughout the Frieza Force in various capacities. A blonde member wearing Sorbet's model of Battle Armor appears among Frieza's thousand-soldier army in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, where he charges at Krillin and is effortlessly defeated. Various Frieza Force Combatants, Commandos, and Elite Commandos also appear to belong to this species.
Recoome is the most famous member by far, but several others appear across Dragon Ball media. Vereen is a female member and Recoome's counterpart on the Doola Force, a team of heroic female aliens modeled after the Ginyu Force in Dragon Ball Fusions. Noomeg is an unruly purple-skinned male who lives on Earth, while Peppa is a teal-skinned outlaw who wanders the galaxy. Clone Recoomes, mindless fast-growing duplicates, were created by Android 21 in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The video game Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu also features palette-swapped variants named Earth and Zofuto who appear as enemies after Recoome's defeat.
