Tokitoki

Race

Divine birds capable of creating time itself. Raised by candidates for the Supreme Kai of Time position, Tokitoki are among the most cosmically significant species in the Dragon Ball universe, with the power to birth entire new universes through their eggs.

Birds That Create Existence

Tokitoki are a species of divine birds smaller than the average Earthling, residing primarily in the Time Nest. Despite their modest physical size, their cosmic importance is staggering: they create time. Each Tokitoki is raised by a Glind selected as a candidate for the position of Supreme Kai of Time, making their care a prerequisite for one of the highest offices in the multiverse.

As birds, they possess the ability to fly and have sharp talons. They can teleport themselves and others, and communicate through vocalizations that certain beings, like Chronoa, can understand. Young Tokitoki produce time distortions when stressed, a dangerous side effect of their inherent connection to the fabric of reality.

Wings of Nullification

Perhaps their most remarkable defensive ability is the Wings of Nullification, which generates golden wind capable of dispelling Energy of Destruction. This was demonstrated when the Gods of Destruction attempted to destroy Chronoa's Tokitoki during the Universe Creation Saga, only to find their most devastating power completely neutralized.

The Egg That Births a Universe

Male Tokitoki can lay special Time Eggs containing enough energy to create time for an entirely new universe. These eggs cannot be replicated artificially. Attempts to do so produce Distorted Time Eggs, which generate massive rifts in time and, when gathered together, can alter history based on strongly held desires.

Chronoa's Tokitoki became the center of multiple conflicts. The demon Demigra secretly experimented on the young bird before being exposed and banished to the Demon Realm. Years later, Demigra amassed enough dark energy to become a Demon God and attacked the Time Nest specifically to seize the Tokitoki for himself, only to be defeated and sealed within the Crack of Time.

The rivalry between Supreme Kai of Time candidates also touched the species directly. Mechikabura attempted to accelerate his Tokitoki's growth using dark magic, causing problems and ultimately raising a false copy named Dogidogi instead of nurturing the genuine article.

Guardians of Tomorrow

Protecting a Tokitoki's Time Eggs is among the Supreme Kai of Time's most sacred duties. Angel attendants will intervene if their God of Destruction threatens to act recklessly around the eggs. The Tokitoki themselves are fiercely protective of their own eggs, displaying the same instincts as any parent guarding unhatched young.

Chronoa's Tokitoki can transform into a God Bird form, and under the corruption of dark energy, a Demonic variant has also been observed. These transformations underscore the species' connection to forces far beyond ordinary biology.

The Tokitoki stand as living proof that in the Dragon Ball multiverse, the most important beings are not always the strongest fighters. A species of birds, smaller than most humanoids, quietly generates the time through which all existence flows.
