Brave Heat

Technique

A rush-and-blast combination attack used by Bardock where he charges flame-like ki energy in his fist, delivers a powerful punch, then follows up with a blazing energy wave. Originated in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Execution

Bardock concentrates his ki into his right hand, generating visible flame-shaped energy around his fist. He then rushes directly at his opponent and delivers a devastating punch. Upon connecting, Bardock flips backward to create distance, then immediately charges and fires a powerful energy wave engulfed in flame-like aura at the staggered opponent. The two-phase nature of the attack, combining a physical strike with an energy finisher, makes it difficult to defend against since blocking the punch leaves the target open to the blast.

Origins and Context

The Brave Heat is a variation of Bardock's Spirit of Saiyans technique, refined into a more focused and powerful attack. According to dialogue in Xenoverse 2, Bardock and his teammates used a cooperative version of this technique during their missions together purely for the fun of it, suggesting it originated as a Saiyan battle ritual among close comrades rather than a technique developed for any specific tactical purpose. This backstory adds depth to Bardock's character, showing the camaraderie within his squad beyond their reputation as ruthless warriors.

Game Appearances

The Brave Heat debuts in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as Bardock's Ultimate Skill. Players can learn it by training under Bardock as a mentor and completing his third lesson. A cooperative variant called DUAL Brave Heat is unlockable by maxing out friendship with Bardock, allowing two fighters to perform the technique in tandem. The technique is usable by custom characters of any race, unlike some Saiyan-exclusive skills. Interestingly, in-game text sometimes mislabels it as "Tyrant Lancer," which is actually the name of one of Bardock's separate Super Skills.
