The raw power of a God of Destruction manifested as energy. It can erase anything from existence and can be wielded as both a projectile and a defensive aura.
Energy of Destruction is the Power of Destruction given physical form. Gods of Destruction naturally wield this energy, which can erase virtually anything it touches from existence. The energy can take multiple forms: a concentrated sphere that can be thrown at targets, or an aura that surrounds the user's body and destroys anything that comes into contact with it. When used as a barrier, even ki blasts weaker than the user simply dissolve on contact. However, sufficiently powerful beings can punch through or deflect the Energy of Destruction, as Vegeta demonstrated in his Super Saiyan God SS Evolved form against Top.
The Energy of Destruction created one of the most tense sequences leading into the Tournament of Power. Universe 9's God of Destruction, Sidra, gave a portion of his destructive energy to an assassin to use against Frieza. When the energy hit Frieza, he appeared to struggle against its overwhelming power. But Frieza was faking the entire time. To everyone's shock, the emperor compressed Sidra's Energy of Destruction back into a sphere and used it to kill the assassin instead. Then, purely for his own amusement, Frieza hurled the sphere at Goku, who genuinely could not escape it in his base form. Only Beerus's arrival saved Goku, as the God of Destruction casually blew away the energy with a wave of his hand.
During the Tournament of Power, Top of Universe 11 awakened his latent God of Destruction powers and began wielding Energy of Destruction offensively. He used it to devastating effect against Golden Frieza, who confidently tried to compress it as he had done with Sidra's energy. This time, however, Top's power was far too great, and Frieza was beaten back into his final form. Top also demonstrated the defensive application, surrounding himself in a destructive aura that dissolved any ki attack on contact. However, Beerus noticed a critical flaw: unlike a true God of Destruction, Top needed time to gather his energy, leaving an opening for counterattack. Vegeta exploited this weakness by overpowering Top's Sphere of Destruction with his Final God Explosion.
