Thin beams of concentrated ki fired from the eyes. Used by a wide range of fighters from King Piccolo to Frieza to Cell, they offer quick, precise strikes without requiring hand movements.
Eye Lasers are exactly what they sound like: focused beams of ki energy fired directly from the user's eyes. The technique's main advantage is speed and convenience. Unlike hand-based energy attacks, Eye Lasers require no arm movement or charging stance, making them ideal for surprise attacks or situations where the user's hands are occupied. The beams are typically thin and precise, better suited for piercing or cutting than for wide-area destruction. Their power varies wildly by user, ranging from minor annoyances to genuinely threatening attacks.
Eye Lasers have been a favorite tool of Dragon Ball's villains since King Piccolo first used them during his takeover of Earth. Frieza employed them on Namek, Nappa used them to destroy vehicles and buildings during the Saiyan invasion, and Cell fired them as supplementary attacks during the Cell Games. Dr. Gero (Android 20) and Android 19 both had Eye Laser capabilities built into their designs. The technique saw particularly dramatic use from Piccolo, who inherited the ability from his father and used it both as a Namekian combat tool and, most famously, to destroy the Moon and prevent Gohan from transforming into a Great Ape.
Eye Lasers continued to appear throughout Dragon Ball's extended continuity. In Dragon Ball GT, enemies like Luud, Commander Nezi, and Syn Shenron all employed the technique. During Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power, several fighters used Eye Lasers as quick-strike options. In the manga's Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Seven-Three and Moro both demonstrated the ability after copying other fighters' techniques. The Eye Laser remains one of the most practical techniques in the series due to its speed and lack of telegraphing, even if it rarely serves as a finishing blow against opponents of comparable power.
