Ultra Fusion is the warrior produced by Five-Way Fusion, a technique that merges five fighters into a single being of tremendous power. Named by Captain Ginyu himself, the Ultra Fusion serves as the ultimate team attack in Dragon Ball Fusions.
An Ultra Fusion's appearance is not a blend of all five participants but is instead determined entirely by whoever initiates the Five-Way Fusion dance. If a male Saiyan leads the sequence, the Ultra Fusion takes the form of a male Saiyan warrior. A female Earthling initiator would produce a female Earthling Ultra Fusion. This gives teams strategic control over what kind of fighter emerges from the merger, allowing them to choose the initiator based on the situation's demands.
In the Dragon Ball Fusions story, Tekka's team uses Ultra Fusion at several key moments during the Timespace Tournament. The primary team consists of Tekka, Kid Goku, Pan, Trunks, and Goten, producing a warrior whose power level is staggering by any measure. While the Ultra Fusion is extraordinarily powerful, it still falls below the level of the God of Destruction Beerus under normal circumstances. However, after absorbing a Super Spirit Bomb containing energy from every fighter gathered in the Timespace Rift, the Ultra Fusion temporarily surpassed even Beerus and defeated the monstrous Great Ape Pinich.
The villainous counterpart, Ultra Pinich, was formed when Pinich was tricked by Frieza and Cell into performing Five-Way Fusion with them and two other villains. Ultra Pinich served as the primary antagonist of the game's climax, and its defeat required the heroes' own Ultra Fusion powered up to maximum through the Super Spirit Bomb.
