A monstrous last-resort transformation achieved when a Demon God expends every ounce of divine power, merging with their magical weapon and taking on a bestial form of devastating but costly strength.
The Demon God True Form represents the absolute limit of what a Demon God can achieve through sheer expenditure of their divine power. Unlike the progression from Demon God to Second Version or Dark King, which represent controlled evolutions, the True Form is essentially a controlled detonation of everything the user has, transforming them into a monstrous powerhouse at tremendous personal cost.
The transformation process involves the user burning through every reserve of their divine demonic energy simultaneously. Their body undergoes a dramatic metamorphosis: clothing fuses into their flesh, hair cascades down their back in wild growth, and massive black spikes burst from their shoulders. The resulting form is distinctly inhuman, with each user's True Form taking on animal-like characteristics unique to their individual nature. Shroom's True Form resembles a lizard, while Salsa's takes on bat-like qualities. The Demon God weapon that each user carries also merges into their body during this process, incorporating its magical properties directly into their transformed physiology.
Demigra was the first character to display this form, using it as his ultimate trump card against the Future Warrior in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. He boasted that no one who had seen him in this state had ever survived to speak of it. In the Dragon Ball Heroes version, his True Form grew to enormous proportions comparable to a Great Ape, earning the designation "Giant Demon God."
The costs of the True Form vary dramatically between users, but they are always severe. Demigra's version, while enormously powerful, significantly reduces his speed, creating a vulnerability that skilled opponents can exploit. His massive size in the Heroes iteration compounds this issue, making him a large and relatively slow target despite his devastating attack power.
For Shroom and Salsa, the consequences are far more dire. When Mechikabura forced both of them to enter their True Forms during the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, they knew going in that using the transformation would kill them. They were battling Xeno King Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Bardock, and Mechikabura evidently deemed their deaths an acceptable price for attempting to stop the Saiyan warriors. Despite the enormous power of their True Forms, both Shroom and Salsa were defeated and perished as a result.
This lethality makes the True Form fundamentally different from other Dragon Ball transformations. While forms like Kaioken and certain Ultra Instinct variants carry health risks, they do not guarantee the user's death. The Demon God True Form, at least for users below Demigra's level of power, is essentially a suicide attack, trading the user's life for a final burst of overwhelming force.
