Legendary Mexican voice director and actress. Directed the entire Latin American Spanish dub of the Dragon Ball franchise until Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy, becoming a towering figure in Spanish-language anime localization.
Rocha established herself as the mastermind behind the Latin American Spanish voice cast of Dragon Ball. As dubbing director, she shaped the vocal identity of the entire franchise across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT, ending her tenure with Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy. Her direction defined how Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide experienced the series, making critical choices in voice casting and performance direction that remain iconic decades later. Beyond casting, Rocha also provided additional voices throughout the series, contributing directly to the soundscape of the Spanish dub.
Rocha emerged as one of Mexico's greatest voice directors, building her reputation through decades of pioneering work in the dubbing industry. She debuted in dubbing during the late 1950s at Rivatón de América after being discovered through radio drama work at XEW Radio in Mexico City. Her career spanned legendary studios including CINSA, widely recognized as the best dubbing studio in Mexican history, followed by positions at Telespeciales, Producciones Salgado, Intertrack, and Auditel. Beyond Dragon Ball, she directed dubs for Sailor Moon, Sakura Card Captors, Digimon Adventure, and Slam Dunk, making her a cornerstone of 1990s anime localization. As an actress, Rocha voiced Miss Piggy in the Muppets, Melody Valentine in Josie and the Pussycats, and dubbed major actresses including Jane Fonda, Julie Christie, and Shelley Winters. She retired from Auditel in 2012 and passed away in January 2026 at age 94.
