Chapter 64

Her confidence restored, Momo Yaoyorozu tells Shoto Todoroki she had the scheme mapped from the opening bell. Their teacher answers from a rooftop, whipping cloth down at them, and Shoto's flames die the moment Erasure touches him. Momo pulls him into cover: the plan needs only time. She has him test his ice again and again, and once it returns, Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall erupts and blots out the pursuing hero's sightline entirely. Blinded, Shota Aizawa waits.

Behind that screen Momo manufactures a copy of his capturing weapon plus a catapult. The two dash out cloaked, and Aizawa binds what proves to be a mannequin. The catapult fires, ringing him in the imitation cloth, and Shoto pours heat along the ground on cue. The replica is nitinol, an alloy that snaps back to its remembered shape when heated, so the coils cinch tight. Handcuffs follow, and the pair become the first students through.

Momo admits she fumbled the catapult shot badly enough to have handed the match away. Aizawa never faked the capture: with Shoto hidden he had nothing to erase, so he retreated. Shoto thanks her for the plan, and she blinks back happy tears while he offers oddly practical advice about a pressure point on her foot. Recovery Girl broadcasts the result. Elsewhere Minoru Mineta flees Midnight with Hanta Sero asleep, Present Mic's volume drives the local animals wild so Koji Koda's commands go nowhere, and All Might holds a battered Izuku Midoriya aloft with Katsuki Bakugo pinned underfoot, telling both that cooperation was only the entry fee.

Todoroki and Yaoyorozu defeat Eraser Head, leaning on the Quirk stamina he lost to injuries taken during the raid on the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. The victory restores the confidence Momo lost earlier in the term.

Three more bouts open. Hanta Sero drops unconscious almost at once against Midnight, leaving Minoru Mineta alone. Kyoka Jiro and Koji Koda find no answer to Voice. Eijiro Kirishima and Rikido Sato begin on Cementoss.

The All Might match is shown already underway, with both students apparently beaten.

Nineteen pages, published October 26, 2015 in issue 48 and collected in volume 8 under the Final Exams arc. Todoroki, Yaoyorozu and Aizawa share the cover, which also has a sketch version.

The anime splits the material three ways, running from Episode 35 through Episode 37.
